about Electrostatic Painting, Electrostatic Refinishing
and Electro Painters
What is Electrostatic Painting?
Not all electrostatic painting processes are equal! Electro Painters uses the highly specialized Ransburg #2 spray equipment, which atomizes and statically charges the atomized paint as it leaves the spray head, driven only by centrifugal force. The positively charged paint seeks grounded metals and "wraps" around even the most intricate shapes. Unlike conventional spray processes, the paint is statically drawn only to the metal from all directions, so there is no overspray, spatters or mess. Give us a call or email us if you’d like more detail and we’d be happy to share the magic.
How much downtime should we expect?
What are the SPECIFIC benefits of Electrostatic painting?
Our Electrostatic Painting Process ensures no overspray, delivering a clean and precise application every time. The hygienic, non-porous surface prevents the growth of MRSA and other pathogens, making it ideal for environments that require high cleanliness standards. This durable finish is impervious to disinfectants and common cleaning solutions, ensuring longevity. With a factory-like enamel finish, our process is both cost-effective and highly professional. We complete the work on-site, reducing disruption to your operations and minimizing frustration for your staff. Our process involves minimal interruption, with the paint drying to the touch within an hour and ready for light use the following morning.

What type of paint is used and why?
-
Interior: We use a two-component polyamide epoxy enamel for office furnishings, lockers, machinery, and most interior metals. This paint offers superior adhesion, toughness, and chemical resistance, and is specifically formulated for use with electrostatic spray guns. It is self-priming on properly prepared surfaces.
-
Exterior: For outdoor items like wrought iron, fences, and trailers, we use a two-component urethane enamel. This paint provides excellent gloss retention, weather resistance, and protection against chemicals and heat up to 300°F. When necessary, we apply a two-component epoxy primer for enhanced adhesion and rust protection.
MSDS Sheets are available for all products used.

We proudly offer low VOC (Volatile Organic Compounds) and HAP-free (Hazardous Air Pollutants) products for both interior and exterior applications. These eco-friendly coatings meet all performance standards of our standard epoxy and urethane paints while containing only 58% of the VOCs by weight compared to regular electrostatic coatings.
The Electrostatic Painting Process is a natural "Green" alternative to conventional methods, offering several environmental benefits:
- Our epoxy and urethane paints last three to four times longer than traditional coatings, extending the life of metal surfaces and reducing environmental impact over time.
- The process achieves near 100% transfer efficiency, minimizing airborne particulates.
- Less paint is required for full coverage, significantly lowering VOC emissions.
- We also recycle all solvents, further reducing our environmental footprint.
